McGill University in Montréal, Canada has published a study on the efficacy and protective layer formation of tannin-based boiler water conditioning products. Decades of positive real-world experiences with DEMKOR have now been scientifically confirmed.
Two researchers from the Canadian university, Dr. Roger Gaudreault and Dr. Mahdi Dargahi, employed precise QCM-D (Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation monitoring) measurement technology that offers nanogram-scale precision. The laboratory results prove that DEMKOR forms a layer within just ten minutes.
The scientists also used electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to conduct extensive corrosion inhibition efficiency measurements, going so far as to write a formula for the necessary calculations. They were also able to scientifically confirm a correlation between higher DEMKOR concentrations and a greater resistance to corrosion.
