The KORN story

1932

Erwin Korn founds the company as a commercial agency for well-known domestic and foreign chemical manufacturers.

1969

Peter Korn, Jr. joins his father’s company after completing his commercial training, further education at technical colleges and gaining experience in Switzerland and the USA.

1970

Development of the water treatment and cleaning chemicals departments based on organic and environmentally friendly raw materials.

1971

Establishment of Erwin Korn KG by son Peter Korn and market launch of DEMKOR products.

1980

Apaco AG (a family-owned corporation) takes over sole representation of DEMKOR in Switzerland.

1981

DEMKOR is used by well-known companies such as Feinkost Popp and Jacobs Kaffee, as well as by the Lübeck municipal utilities.

1982

Erwin Korn KG is converted into a limited liability company and the field of activity is extended to include plant engineering.

1989

After the death of Peter Korn, Transmare-Chemie Handelsgesellschaft mbH, owned by Andreas Haltermann, takes over KORN GmbH.

1993

Establishment of the cooling water treatment business unit with FERROKORN products.

1994

Successful expansion of the product portfolio with VITROGLANZ for bottle cleaning and listing with Coca-Cola.

2004

Distribution of KORN products in France by our distribution partner Servivap France.

2010

The next generation takes the helm: Moritz Haltermann joins the management of KORN GmbH.

2011

Introduction of the KORN eService and online analysis and calculation tools.

2012

Cooperation with TWGT Canada, the exclusive distributor of KORN products in the North American market.

2014

Cooperation with TWGT Canada, the exclusive distributor of KORN products in the North American market.

2018

KORN acquires 37% of TGWT

Expansion of the strategic alliance – KORN intensifies its cooperation with its long-standing partner TGWT Clean Technologies Inc. and acquires 37% of the Canadian company’s share capital.

2019

Welcome CT Card! Product co-operation in Poland

As our exclusive distributor in Poland, our partner CT Card is a byword for successful co-operation in the field of cooling and boiler water additives. Together, we have successfully introduced tannin-based boiler additives and sustainably expanded our customer base in Poland.

2024

New company headquarters in Hamburg-Stellingen
